going down the boring bike track

this week In writing I have been learning to check that we have used correct structure for recount
To be successful we will:
  • Say who, when, where and what at the beginning of our recount
  • Use time words between events (Firstly, After that, next and finally
  • End with a reflection (my thoughts about the event)

I am successful cause I see these in my recount and I have awesome language

Going down the bike trail

In the holidays  my Mum my Brother my Cousin and I were walking down the Kaikohe bike trail  I Was bored. It was so boring. Man, this is so not fun. When will it end? I thought to myself. We walked down  so far that  I felt exhausted. I could feel sweat running down my neck. Shortly after my Mum said, that we have to walk back  we were running. My legs felt like jelly I felt tired I was racing my brother but

I lost  I couldn't wait till we got to the car and then I just remembered that we are walking home I felt even more bored. I felt as thirsty as a camail Then I said” to my mum are you tired. She said a bit then I thought in my mind were nearly there a few minutes later we were there At last we are back at the start we had a rest. It was cool at the start cause it wasn't hot I could hear birds nousis  Next we went up and crossed the road my mum said”. look both sides!! Then we crossed the road later on we arrived at our house YAY!! I said”. That walk felt like a disaster. THE END

  1. Hi My name is Benson from Waikowhai Primary School! In Hauraki (Room 9) I really enjoyed reading your writing! It reminds me about when me and my family went on bush walks and I really hated them! Maybe in the future you can add more detail on your surroundings! But besides that I really enjoyed it! Keep up the good work!
